Figurine of a Bull Horned Lizard Hand Painted Pewter 4"
This horned-lizard figurine is a work of art! Hand painted and made from pewter, these figurines are life-like.
Scientific name: Phrynosoma taurus The bull has nearly fused temporal horns behind the eyes and much reduced horns in the middle giving it quite the bull-like appearance. Geographically, the Bull Horned Lizard is restricted to three southern Mexican states: Fuerrero, Oaxaca, and Puebla. The Bull generally occurs at lower elevations (4900 feet) then other Mexican species.
Horned Lizards - Of all the North American lizards, Horned Lizards are the most fearsome-looking and distinctive by virtue of the pointed, protruding "horns" above their eyes. These unique figurines are the closest representation to real horned lizards. When you hold one of these hand-painted figurines in your hand, you will believe that it is real. All figurines are hand painted and made with pewter. The Texas and California lizards have developed different colorings.
